Why are so many celebrities choosing to use smokeless cigarettes

images20

The western world is obsessed with the cult of celebrity. It’s no longer good enough to aspire to be a sports star or a rock god: if you want recognition you now have to be classed as a celebrity. The public helps to perpetuate the myth by devouring celebrity news voraciously, and by aping celebrity behavior unashamedly. Still, there’s no need to be too disdainful or critical of this new cultural influence: sometimes it can actually be a force for good. It would appear from the newspapers and the weekly magazine that celebrities are increasingly turning to the electronic cigarette to get their nicotine fix, and that for us can only be good news. Maybe these celebrities are not as intellectually-challenged and one-dimensional as they painted to be.

So which celebrity started the ball rolling and was the first to come out and openly use a smokeless cigarette in public? Well, that’s the $64,000 question. The time-frame is unclear. Some claim it was Katherine Heigl, or Izzy from Gray’s Anatomy as she’s better known: she swore her allegiance to the product when she smoked one publicly on the Letterman Show on live U.S.TV. Others argue that it was Charlie Sheen who publicly endorsed smokeless cigarettes. Sheen can rightly take credit for lots of things, but was he really the first to do it? The truth is we just don’t know. Celebrities on both sides of the Atlantic have been keen to switch to the safer smoking alternative, and frankly who can blame them?

Joining the growing list of celebrity vapers have been Leonardo Di Caprio, Kevin Federline, ex-husband of Britney Spears and celebrity by default, Dennis Quaid, Lindsay Lohan, Eric Roberts, John Cusack and Johnny Depp. On this side of the pond we’ve seen our own celebrity vapers too: Kate Moss is partial to the occasional one, as are, Jimmy White, Matt Cardle, Catherine Zeta Jones and June Alexander. Rock and roll hasn’t escaped the draw of the product either. Ronnie Wood, Eddie Van Halen, Tom Petty and even Pete Docherty have been spotted taking a hit on smokeless cigarettes recently.

Why is this important? Well, it’s important because to the best of our knowledge every one of these celebrities made the decision to switch to electronic cigarettes voluntarily because they acknowledged the fact that the product was safer and healthier for them. None of these celebrities was sponsored to promote a particular product. These celebrities have made positive choices, and have stopped using tobacco-based cigarettes because they are dangerous and can be lethal. If their behaviour persuades other tobacco smokers to make the switch, then that can only be a good thing.

Making Your Choice Among Cosmetic Surgeons

One of the most important decisions you will ever make is deciding among the many cosmetic surgeons in your area. You want to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible with your final choice so that you can be confident you’ll be happy with the results. Here are some considerations to keep in mind before you choose.

It is critical that you do an extensive amount of research, not only regarding the type of procedure that you want but also the doctor who will perform it. You need to look at his or her training, education, experience, and competence. Also, it is important that you find out whether or not the doctor you are considering has had any sort of claims filed against him or her by patients who have undergone the same procedure that you will have. Look closely at any available before-and-after pictures of previous patients and make sure you are comfortable with the doctor’s previous results. Speak to those patients if you can.

The Types of Doctors Who Become Cosmetic Surgeons
There has been a substantial rise in the number of people who have chosen to have plastic surgery performed in recent years. As a result, there are more cosmetic surgeons in the field. There is a very competitive pool of available doctors, so you want to make sure that you make your choice based on professionalism and ability, not any sort of hard sales tactics you may experience.

How to Evaluate Cosmetic Surgeons
If one of the doctors you are considering practices in a well-established hospital with a strong reputation, that is obviously a plus. These types of facilities evaluate doctors based on the competence, training, experience, and education just like you should. If a doctor is allowed to practice in that hospital, that is a good sign that he or she has met the criteria that you should be looking for.

However, there are still many, many questions that you should ask before choosing a doctor, even if he or she practices in a facility that has a sterling reputation. Find out how long the doctor has performed the specific procedure that you will have, and ask where he or she received training in that procedure. Make sure you know what type of continuing education the doctor has pursued and how much experience he or she possesses.

You’ll also want to know how many patients have had to return for corrections or revisions, and get detailed information regarding the risks and possible complications of the procedure you are having. All of the doctors you are considering should have an ample number of before-and-after pictures for you to see. The more pictures available, the more experience that doctor will have.

It may seem like a lot of effort is required to make your best possible choice among cosmetic surgeons, but the work you put in now can help you enjoy long-term benefits.

Discover The Beauty Of Uk Holidays

images18

With the recession that continues to bite many of us are considering a staycation to rediscover what the UK is all about. After all, there is a good reason why Britain has such a large influx of tourists in the holiday season. We live in an area of outstanding natural beauty with immeasurably rich cultural and historic traditions.

Natural Beauty

Thanks to erosion the sand isn’t all overseas. Britain has a bewildering 11,000 miles of coastline, much of it unspoilt by large hotel complexes and tourist traps. And to add to the Olympic legacy, for active families, Britain has some of the best national parks in the world. Thats no overstatement. From the sparse and untamed wilds of Dartmoor to the breathtaking volcanic fells of the Lake District; whether its hiking, climbing, cycling or canoeing, there is something for every adventurer in the family.

Cultural & Historic Traditions

Yes so the weather isnt always brilliant. It can rain from time to time. This is, ironically, where Britain shines. Thousands of years of history weren’t for nothing. When the weather doesn’t qualify for time spent at the beach, Britain has an unrivalled quantity of castles and stately homes to explore. We have brilliant cities of cultural excellence in London, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Manchester where there is fantastic food, shopping, theatre and art to be tasted.

Cost-Effective

Not only can Britain offer many of the same things and more that an overseas holiday can, it can also be cheaper too. While Britain itself isn’t necessarily cheap, by virtue of driving to your destination instead of flying can save you hundreds of pounds. By car you are also free to travel with as much or as little as you want. No expensive baggage allowances.

This means you can take food from home if youre going self-catering and you can also avoid heavy rental fees by taking your own sports equipment with you. Driving also means that location is less essential. If you’re visiting a city, you can reduce accommodation prices dramatically by staying further afield.

The most beneficial thing to your budget is that you are a national. You are well aware of what is overpriced and what isn’t and are unlikely to fall into tourist traps or get shortchanged as a result.

Until recently, if you asked the average person where they were going on holiday, the most definitive answer would probably have been anywhere outside of Britain, anything to escape the cold, mossy, overcast rock we inhabit. But this has shown you why that stereotype is wrong and why the tide is starting to turn, back to the United Kingdom.
